Unhappiness in Marriage depends…

unhappiness in marriage

Unhappiness in Marriage goes away with time

UK marriage foundation found that 70% of marriages that were unhappy when interviewed were happier with the passing of time.

The foundation found that after 10 years’ couples that had said they were unhappy changed their view as time passed.

In fact, 30% of the couples stated that they had become extremely happy with their marriages.

The survey theorized that couples at the beginning of marriage were faced with numerous challenges that caused stress in the marriage relationship. These included personal adjustments, child rearing and financial instabilities. As these stresses stabilized stress was reduced and marriage matters became the focus of the relationship and things improved for the couples.

The foundation found that couples who were proactive and sought help with their marital difficulties cut the transition to a happier relationship by almost half.

Struggling couples often waited 4-6 years before seeking help for marital problems.

Couples that committed to the long term in their marriage were rewarded with a happier relationship.
