Start Your Day
The key to every new day is to start.
Too many times I see and hear people moaning and groaning about getting up in the morning.
I am so sorry but you have to, you have to get up and get going.
You have to start.
A big part of the problem is you didn’t get to bed at a decent time the night before. I know the kiddos might have been up and crying or the neighbors were making noise.
But most of the time you have control over how and when you go to bed.
So get to bed and get the sleep you need.
There are all kinds of things you can do to help yourself get the rest you need. But get to sleep at a decent time. At least give it a good try.
Use the DVR and tape the late night stuff. You really didn’t want to see the TV ads anyway.
The biggest thing about starting the day is all in your attitude and outlook.
It’s morning it’s a brand new day and there are countless possibilities in the minutes and hours ahead of you.
You are alive and the day is here to live. The only other alternative is not being alive and that just really isn’t a choice.
So get up greet the day and start the day with the hope and wonder a new day provides.
Here are a few get started tips:
Have a daily morning routine. Practice makes perfect and helps get you going.
Get stuff ready the night before. Get your clothes for the day out, set up the coffee maker and be ready to go in the morning.
Make your bed. Yes, straighten things up. What’s worse than coming home to a messed up bed.
Drink a glass of water. Get the plumbing moving.
Eat breakfast. Put something in your gas tank to start your engine. Don’t run out the door with a piece of toast hanging out of your mouth. Sit down and enjoy your breakfast.
Take some time to be calm. Pray, meditate, breathe and relax for just a few minutes. Calm yourself before all the crazy stuff of the day begins.
Stretch a little. Get the night time kinks out and get in tune with your body.
Stay away from your device for a while. Don’t get caught up in all the distractions that the social media can pull you into. At least check things after you ready to get out in the world. It’s a distraction that wont help you get up and go.
Listen to some nice music. If you need it listen to something that will energize you.
The point is this, you are the one who is in control of you day. The way it begins and ends.
Take control of you life in small ways by getting your day going in the right way.
Start your day.
