Love 20

Day 20

1 John 4:8

The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

From the “get go” we need to understand that this whole ball of wax, the earth, and all that we have was done out of love, God’s love.

All that is happening is for and about God’s love for us. I know where does the bad stuff come into the equation?

The bad stuff, like mean people doing mean things. If you haven’t seen the incredible amount of meanness out there in the world then God blessed you. But for the rest of us we seem to be surrounded by a mean spirited world.

So what’s up with these mean people?

Again it all comes down to this love thing. Mean people may love their car, their house, even their family and spouse. But if they don’t have a love for creation and the one who created it they have no real love. “Mean love” is a love for self. This love becomes a “survival love” where only my and mine are important. Mean people are suspicious and ready to fight.

Christians on the other hand see God’s greater plan in this world.

They love God, trust in Him, and love the world created by Him. Christians are called to love everyone even the mean people. Christians become part of this God love plan because they know God and love God.

  1. Take a look around at the good in this world. Do it right now. God created this place and said it was good. Check the first chapters of the book of Genesis.

  2. Take a deep breath and appreciate the goodness that God created. It is out here.

  3. Understand that the bad stuff isn’t God stuff. The good stuff is the God stuff. Pay attention to that and only that. Feel better?
