Here are some tips for a longer life:

  • Be conscientious.

In all things have a balance.

  • Make friends.

Make good friends and keep them.

  • Quit smoking.

If you are smoking, stop. If you don’t smoke don’t start.

  • Nap

Take short naps in your day.

  • Healthy diet.

Keep a healthy diet all your life.

  • Get married.

Married folks tend to live longer.

  • Lose weight.

Get rid of those extra pounds to increase your life.

A little bit of weekly exercise really helps.

  • Drink in moderation.

A little wine a little laughter helps. But consume just a little wine.

  • Get spiritual.

A belief in God can give your life meaning and increase longevity.

Don’t hold on to those grudges. Forgive and move on with your life. Holding in the anger can kill you.

  • Wear safety gear.

Sounds silly but take the safety precautions necessary to keep yourself alive. There are too many deaths because of accidents, which could have been prevented by taking safety steps.

Get your 8 hours of sleep. Record your late TV shows for later viewing. Stop the caffeine before bedtime.

  • Manage stress.

Exercise, friendships and meditation can help with stress. Be proactive in dealing with stress in your life.

  • Have a purpose.

This is a huge issue in dealing with stress in your life. Knowing that what you are doing now even if it causes stress is for some higher purpose can reduce the long term stress in your life. Find a purpose in your life and strive for that.
