Holiday Crazies…

Don’t Go Crazy During the Holidays

Here are some hints for not going crazy for the holiday season.

  • Be kind to yourself.

So many people are depending on you. Yes, it’s a lot of pressure. Don’t let the responsibilities of the season drive you insane. Take the needed time for you. Try to relax and take a breath. Ask for help. You can’t burn out. So don’t let yourself.

  • Do what you can, but try not to do everything.

There is only so much you can do. You are only one person. Let some of the stuff get done by others or not at all.

  • Plan ahead.

Try to get things done before hand. Plan for the things that need planning. Allow for some wiggle room in all of the planning. Maybe even have a Plan B when things don’t work out.

Don’t let yourself be overwhelmed. At least try.

  • Make time for each other.

Take the time that is needed to be with others during the season. Talk and listen. Really listen to friends and relatives. Give the gift of time.

The holidays are not about gifts and feasts. The holidays are about people and connections.

Remember the reason for the season.

It’s all about peace on earth and goodwill.

Make this season a peaceful one.
