Getting Rid of Things

Things that don’t matter.

The hardest thing about getting rid of stuff that doesn’t matter is we don’t really know what matters.

Part of this mindset of not knowing is that we think things matter.

Having stuff around somehow makes us feel safe and satisfied.

We believe that the things we have will somehow protect us from hurt.

The problem with this is that there are always, always new things that we are told we must have to fulfill our need for satisfaction.

The newest smart phone ( Are they really that smart?), car and household gadget are designed to make our lives easier, safer and more in touch.

But can you really say you are more in touch and safer because of the stuff you have?

What really does matter?

Things pile up, break down and become useless with time. Things clutter up our lives and steal away our energy.

So what matters in your life? What can you do without? What are the essentials in your life?

Tell me, comment and I will share your ideas in a future blog.

Life feeling cluttered and out of sorts? Let’s talk @
