I’m Not Perfect…

I am not perfect..

I’m not perfect.

One of the stigmas that a therapist must overcome in dealing with the perception that client’s have is that therapists have perfect little lives. Therapists are there to help you have a perfect little life just like theirs.

Clients think that therapist have it all together and have all the answers. Both notions are far from the truth and can damage a therapy relationship.

Most therapists are doing this work because they have experienced much that this mixed up world has to offer.

Therapists including me, have many of the same hassles and dilemmas of life that we all do. The biggest difference is one we have the education and experience to help you deal with them and two therapists are willing to fight, the fight with you to deal with them.

No we are far from perfect. But that is what makes us the best choice to go to when there is a mental health need. Therapists want to help; they want to make things better in people’s lives. They have taken the time and energy to learn ways to help you become a better you.

Understand though that we don’t have all the answers and that in the end with our help you can find the answers you need for your particular problem.
